A Rare Journey: Nora Joyce’s Odyssey

Role: Chief Technician

Coming to Smock Alley Theatre in June, written and performed by Paula Greevy-Lee, A RARE JOURNEY takes up Nora's story in 1946, five years after James Joyce died. Nora prepares to meet an American writer for lunch, but still wary of journalists, she considers which details of her life might be safe to talk about, and which might be best left unsaid...
Filled with Nora's sharp wit (and tongue!), her keen observations of the literary circles she frequently mixed in during her famous husband's lifetime, her love of music and singing, her troubled relationship with Lucia and sometimes tempestuous relationship with the man she met by chance on Nassau Street in 1904, A RARE JOURNEY presents the remarkable woman Nora Joyce undoubtedly was.
