Equinox
Role: Producer, Production Designer, Accessibility Co-ordinator
Equinox; a tale of sisters, shadows and mythology coming to Smock Allies Scene and Heard Festival 2022. There is a liminal time when doors are half open, and night and day are in balance. A story of sisters, storytelling, and why half-moons are more interesting than full.
Equinox is a rehearsed reading production, which tells the tale of two sisters, Cathline and Bridget who meet upon the waning hours of the Equinox and host the audience in a night of sharing stories. The history of our lands, of gentle harpists and jealous mothers, of great wolves who turn into women. Brought to life by the voices of the sisters, shadow figures will play out the stories. Amongst the trees, as the night grows weak, the sisters must part ways and bring with them the changing seasons.
Equinox will premiere in Smock Alley Theatre Boys School as a part of Scene And Heard Festival 2022 on the 19th February at 1pm. Written by Emily Collins, Directed by Sinéad Dunne Finnegan with powerful performances from Dorothy Laity and Lisa Murphy and puppetry from Emily Collins.
This show will be a relaxed performance.
